Thommy Garcia Rojas

Trumpeter, Thommy Garcia Rojas graduated from the Conservatorio Amadeo Roldán in the year 2000. In 2003, Thommy was hand-picked to become part of The Afro-Cuban All Stars and The Buena Vista Social Club, and was a member of the band for the recording of the CDs “Bajando Gervasio” and “Step Forward”, which were nominated for a Grammy Award and a Grammy Latino Award, respectively.

In 2007, Thommy played with Chucho Valdes, recording a CD with singer and entertainer, Charles Aznavour. Since 2008, he has been a part of the project Rhythms del Mundo, working with artists and groups such as Sting, U2, The Rolling Stones and Coldplay.

Thommy Garcia Rojas is an outstanding trumpeter and is held in great esteem in his native Cuba. Ballet Revolución is fortunate to have a musician of the calibre of Thommy as a member of the band for this touring production.
